Takes you away from the world and into a world full of mysteries

Filton Library is in the new rank of shops by where the old Filton College and wash house used to be and is now modern and it must be noted that it is not that large and is run by South Gloucestershire Council. If your book is not there it can be ordered and there is a photocopier there and a few computer terminalsAbout 18 months ago there was a review and it meant a reduction in the number of hours that the library is staffed, but it is available through the OPEN ACCESS system which now means that it is definitely open 7 days a week. You have to have an induction and there were enough notices that this was going to happen and this induction will still be available but to get this you would need to find out details when staff are on duty (not rocket science!!) NB To do this you would need some proof of ID ( from memory this would be at last photographic evidence i.e. a passport and a utility bill - so 2 lots - induction really only takes about 15 minutes or so and gives you great access - for information this is not available to under 16 year olds who I believe need to be accompanied by an adult!!This extra access seems to be available to South Gloucestershire County Council run libraries (though tickets are valid throughout the old "Avon are or Counties that used to be Avon!!) -- I have since moved to Bristol City Council and can still use itThis gives greater flexibility and also means that if you require longer on the computer then you can go when it is quieter and out of school hours - it is safe as it is only available if you have had the induction and a phone line is there if in need of a problemPrevious comments about lack of staff is explained by this and the fact it is good to be able to use it out of hoursHope that this helps

This library is rubish never have a staff and all time is close this is so sad the choose the name of library as look as cemetery all time no body in this place is sad

I came into the library with a hope that i could sign in this library because i love reading, i did't see anything that says that i have to sign in from the web so i started to knock on the door i stood there for like 5 minutes and it was very cold for me i kept knocking and then a guy came out shouting "YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CARD TO GET IN ,ITS EAZY HAS THAT SO STOP KNOCKING CAUSE I CAN'T LET YOU IN!!!!!" I leave kind of far and i had to go up the hill to get there so i dont recommended because that person made me very upset after a long day and i am just eleven but i am still a person so that means he is disrespectfull to a human being, i hope that nobody that goes to that library gets shouted on them like they did on me (thank u for reading this it means a lot to me)

The staff at this library are always friendly and willing to help. That makes a nice change - other libraries in the Bristol area employ staff that are outright hostile.
