Firstly I have to admit I am bias due to the fact I just started working for Down's Bakery. How ever i will give you my opinion as a customer.You will find everything you would expect in a well stock bakery. Lovely freshly baked bread, rolls, pies, pasties, cakes and cookies, virtually everything baked on the premises. Great range of filled rolls, sandwiches, soft drinks , tea and coffee, also a grill for all those beloved breakfast rolls and sandwiches. Friendly staff who offer great customer service and will take your special orders in store or by phone.

A lovely homely bakery making fresh sandwiches, bread and cakes everyday. I love their custard slice, and everything is very reasonably priced! Staff are friendly too. Note that they only accept cash, however there is a Natwest close by. Definitely a hidden gem in Filton.
I absolutely love bakery's and I'm always looking for a good one to enjoy an occasional treat at. I went to Down's and ordered a Peppered Steak Slice and Apple Crumble. MMMM!!! The Peppered Steak Slice was packed full of flavour, probably one of the best I've had and the Apple Crumble was quite delicious and I received quite a generous serving. Prices and portions are really good. You don't get a lot of places these days that offer a big portion for such a good price. Cleanliness and service was good. I will definitely be returning to this bakery again very soon!!!!
